I always wanted to be in a profession which gave something back to the society we live in and my first career was science. I completed my Biology degree in 1994 and went on to work at several different laboratories doing research on everything from malaria to cancer. I changed career in 1997 after realising that science didn’t fulfil my need to work with and help people.
I trained at the British School of Osteopathy for 5 years and found the degree to be both challenging and amazingly rewarding. I qualified in 2002 and went on to work in a variety of clinics. I worked in a clinic in Cheshunt for five years until 2008, during which time I had my two children.
I bought the Winchmore Hill Clinic in 2008 and have made significant changes to the clinic. The clinic always had an excellent reputation as an Osteopathic clinic but I have endeavoured to introduce lots of different therapies so that we can offer so much more to the patients who come in through the door.
My job as an Osteopath means that I see a huge variety of different patients. Everybody is an individual who needs different things from a treatment session and often by getting to know my patients I get them better quicker. Our bodies are not machines and they respond in different ways to the stresses and strains we put them under. Simple life changes can make a huge different to both our physical and mental well being. Osteopathy is a physical therapy but it is about empowering you to get yourself better and sustain a sense of wellbeing.
