Melissa Barrett qualified from the British School of Osteopathy in 2007 where she gained a Bachelor of Osteopathy degree.
Melissa, since the age of 15 when she was on work experience at the British School of Osteopathy, had always aspired to be an Osteopath.
I always wanted to work in an environment where she could work directly with people to encourage wellbeing and enhance natural health.
On graduating, Melissa worked in a number of practices over the country including the accredited Northern School of Contemporary Dance in West Yorkshire.
Areas of expertise & experience
Melissa’s treatments are structurally based and treats common conditions such as neck and shoulder pain, low back pain, sport injury care and rehabilitation and nerve related injuries.
As well as treatment, recommendations of simple exercise routines to prevent repetition of many injuries can be given.
In 2010 Melissa also qualified in Hot Stone Massage Therapy which offers a slightly different approach to musculoskeletal conditions.
The benefits with this therapy is vast and is becoming increasingly popular for treating many conditions such as headaches, muscle tension and insomnia.

Melissa holds a current Advanced CRB certificate, and is registered with the General Osteopathic Council and The Institute of Osteopathy.
